This is a great place near campus for any type of event you can imagine. Watching an IU basketball game? No place better. Getting dinner with the family? Check. Need to host a corporate recruiting event? They have it covered. Food is good and the beer selection is great.
Seth Myers
Full disclosure I'm a Purdue grad but dinner was good and the atmosphere was pretty cool.
George Roberson
The food is fine, but they skip all the songs by women 😢

Classic IU bar. Food is very good. Try a sample if things. The mushrooms are the best. Fries and onions. Rings are very good and Tina is a very good server. The only negative to my visit was that I got thumb sauced twice and there were way too many Penn State fans that found their way in and discovered that their were more bars upstairs. There was also a weird lady at the bar wearing pug fingers drinking wine, seriously, who does that?

Are here before a basketball game. Great atmosphere. The service was terrific and everyone very friendly even though we had the opposing teams gear on. Great beer selection (use the untapped app to see line up) and plenty of interesting things on menu. We ended up going with the pizza which was pretty good. Will def be back if we are in town again.

An iconic bar/restaurant that has been a staple of IU tradition for the past century. Nick's has a sizable collective of American fare including pizza & a fully serviceable bar area. Ask about their legendary drinking game "Sink the Biz".

Good food. Good beer. Great atmosphere. It can be loud, so if you prefer a quieter dining experience this isn't your place.

Needless to say, no matter if I.U. has a home game or not or if they are even playing, Nick's is always a great place to catch a meal or a game. It also provides a great stroll down memory lane for young and old alike with years of I.U. pictures and memorabilia.
Chris Swigart
Fun place. College atmosphere but not overwhelming. Good service
Chuck Hokanson
Everything all the hype reported. Great food, friendly people. Had a large group...no problem in the earlier afternoon. Got there at the right time on a Sunday. The place was packed when we left. Big game at Assembly Hall that nite.
Lee Rudisill
Good stromboli. Not the absolute best stromboli, but well worth the value. Interesting building and eclectic decorations.

Quaint, old time, small pub-like atmosphere. My boyfriend had gone here to eat, as a college student. Same old booths and pics of the basketball team on the walls. Lots of memorabilia! We ordered prime rib sandwich. He had fries, I chose to have soup. Delicious! It had sausage(very spicy), potatoes, onion and kale. Prime rib was really tender and juicy. Service was excellent! His name, I believe, was Mike. Was there to refill our drinks every time we even got low.

This place never changes. That's the way it should be. Always a good time.

Nick's is a college town bar. I visited with a group of friends from a training at Indiana University. The place was much bigger than it appeared from the outside. They have kareoke upstairs in a second floor bar that rivals any bar I've seen for local participation and enthusiasm. I guess basketball is a thing here. (JK) The bar was lively in the way you want a bar to be. One if my friends sang John Lennon's Imagine. It was a fun time.I ordered the BLT. The bread was toasted perfectly and the bacon was crisp. The sand Wich was slathered in mayonnaise. Delicious! The tomato could have been thicker. It was the only part of the sandwich keeping it from perfection. If your in Bloomington, this is a must stop.

Great place to catch a game, get a bite to eat, and yang out with friends.

Nick's is always a great time

A little tight and a bit crowded, even off- season. Food and service was good, a bit of history and local color infused into the place. I'd go back again.

Great Stromboli and fries. Nice atmosphere. This place has been a staple since before prohibition and it is cool.

Food Isn’t all that great, Service was absolutely terrible.Upstairs In Nicks we asked for another pitcher of beer, never received the second pitcher of beer. I asked the waitress for a water, and still didn’t receive a water. Finally told her “Nevermind on the pitcher and beer or water, can we just get our check to go?†She was very rude, handed our check. We did not tip her because of her attitude for no reason, and let alone we only received one pitcher of beer and never got the second one or the water. On our way out she confronted us and said “It’s very Sh*** not to tip.†Secondly, waitress EARN their tips. If you never come back to our table or we wait over 30 minutes for what we ordered, that’s on you. I understand being a waitress Is super busy, and especially when It’s crowded but If you can not control or multi-task then you need a different job. We won’t be going back.

Everyone is friendly and the food is good. The salad greens were fresh and they didn't skimp at all on the pizza toppings.
April Swift
Pizza and fried shrooms were good but the biz fries were excellent!
Andrew Houlne
A great hole in the wall college town bar. Friendly staff and decent beer selection. Lindsey is awesome and makes us feel at home.

Visited with my wife. I got the roast beef sandwich, she got the bacon burger. My sandwich was alright, her burger was very good.Get the burger. We also got the special fries to split between the two of us. They came in a bucket! If splitting with a full table, get the bucket, otherwise you could probably get by with having them as a side.

One of my favorite bar in Bloomington! I like the redecoration in the room which reflected IU spirit pretty well!
Erik Boswell
GET THE STROM!! Trust me. Get it whilst visiting this iconic Btown establishment. Have several beers, play Sink the Biz and get a STROM. You will thank me later. I promise.

I was with a small work conference, and we had actually planned on going elsewhere that night, but the original place planned had kitchen issues and couldn't make us any food if we went, so we tried here. They easily accommodated of group of 25 at such little notice, and every employee we interacted with was a shining example of the industry. The food was amazing, the drink selection was great. The one experience I had with a restaurant in Indiana prior was atrocious, and this one was about as far opposite as you can go. I hope we get there again. I hope the owner sees this and shares my appreciation with their staff.

Tuesday special 😋 Seafood Gumbo.First authentic gumbo that I've had in Bloomington. If there are others out there, this will be hard to beat.

Legendary mainstay on Kirkwood with a well deserved cult-like following. Food is limited to bar standards like large stromboli and simple pizzas, but everything is executed perfectly. Great selection of drinks are served strong and flow freely. The interior is dripping with local history. Dining rooms are cramped but cozy. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Portions are large and prices decent.

Good place local to Bloomington and any IU fan would be happy to check this place out. Historic an the oldest bar in Bloomington at just over 90 years old. Known for good Italian food, kid friendly for the first level and right half of the building until 9 pm. Upstairs is always 21+. Not a place for dancing, but does have a jukebox (modern via app or at the jukebox) for music and a sportsbar atmosphere of TVs. Excessively popular on IU game days. Food can be a bit pricey, but usually good deals on drinks.
Eric Warren
Always a great time and always great food. Now they even sponsor a bicycle team. What more could you want? (Well. Another order of those onion rings would be awesome.)Seriously. The onion rings.

Came through Bloomington to watch some Hoosier basketball and stop here with the family. Service is immaculate, even for a college bar type place. Food is all great. We had the Sink Fries and several different kinds of sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed their food and experience. Will stop here every time I am in town.

THE BEST fried mushrooms. Period. Eclectic IU atmosphere, a MUST every time we’re in town. Sometimes we drive to Bloomington for the sole purpose of going to Nick’s.

Nick's has become my favorite spot in town. The chicken tenders are no joke. The breading and seasoning are great and the chicken always tastes fresh and juicy. The biz fries are very good. They have a great staff who i hope are getting paid well. The drink selection is very good and the bartenders know what they are doing. They have a bunch of different games on all the time. The only drawback is that it gets extremely loud and that the upstairs seating is kinda wack in the main room
Colin Small
The service was great. Whenever we needed anything the server was there to help. I also thought their food was delicious. I had the Stromboli. I would recommend that if you don’t know what to get.

My family was there to visit our freshman daughter on a Saturday when a football game was being played at IU. I'm thinking this was a mistake. While I dig the atmosphere, the food really suffered. My son ordered a burger that came out raw, the waiter agreed and had the kitchen make it again. We were in the room all the way in the back and it was packed. Our poor waiter was trying his best to keep up, but that was an impossible task. They were horribly understaffed. Maybe this place is better when no game is being played. In the future, I'll stop in for a beer only and skip the food...and on a non-game day.

Wanted to take our kids out with thier cousins for dinner. There was 9 of us. After being told a min of a 1 hour wait at multiple locations that had fear in thier eyes because we had a bunch of kids, we tried Nicks. Not only were we sat right away but the service was amazing. Our server Rachel was great, and very patient. She was busy with the front part of the restuarant and we were in the back part. When she could not get the time to come check on us her team mate Logan had her back and kept our drinks full. Thanks guys! If it were not for Nicks I was seriously about to give in to the kids in the back yelling "taco bell!" You were a saving grace for 2 parents/ aunt and uncle trying to have a nice night out with our favorite little people.

A unique place to eat while in downtown Bloomington by campus. a couple of us have The Tenderloins which were very good and also one had the Knicks sub which was pretty good the biz fries were very very good the decor of the restaurant is very unique waitress was very friendly would definitely go again

The pinnacle steak sandwich.Nick’s is Bloomington’s sports bar. There are no comparables, really there are no local non-franchise gastro-pubs that can compare.Did I mention the steak sandwich? They’ve got burgers, wings and pizza...all good.32 draft beers.Packed during game days and IU parent weekends. The menu does change on game days.I highly recommend, ....can you guess... the steak sandwich! You can’t go wrong
Jasmine Warren
Surprisingly the best service EVER, on a game night & IU won!! It was crowded as hell, but to our surprise they were on top of it the whole time! Loved our server & bat attendant. They were absolutely AMAZING!!! Definitely going back!!

Great food and drink specials! Service is always great! A must visit if you're in town!
Nick Sanders
This place has some great food (try the bucket of seasoned fries) and beer. That’s combined with a welcoming atmosphere and responsive staff. Nick’s English Hut is a staple of the Bloomington bar/night life scene, so have a visit and you see why!
Matthew Pleus
Iconic Bloomington bar. Solid food, better memories. Nick's is the one IU bar to go to.
Mort Nadeem
A bit pricey but food is good - except onion rings, and service is good too. Fries are delicious with the garlic sauce.

Nick’s is a great old time college feel bar/restaurant! It’s walls are covered with old photos and the decor harkens back to a golden era. It’s charming and the food and drinks are always on point. Their Sink the Biz Fries are always a must order! They have drink specials (beer/liquor) daily as well which is great. Service is always awesome, even when they’re slammed which I really appreciate! Nick’s is a great place to go for an old college bar atmosphere, good food/drinks and great service!

My husband's work had their holiday party here in the Hoosier room. As usual Nick's was filled with local and outside customers. Since we were attending a partying do have to say I think they weren't staffed for the event. Two waitresses for a large group took several minutes to get drinks and our food orders but overall a great atmosphere of people coming together to have a good night

A great time and a fun experience. The next time we're in Bloomington we'll have to spend more time at Nick's.

Good food and good service
